With Valentine’s Day landing on Saturday in 2026, Shirley’s Flower Studio in Bentonville, Arkansas is in the midst of one of the busiest weeks of the year. Patricia Upshaw, the owner of Shirley’s Flower Studio, recommends ordering early, since heavy demand can mean limited ordering windows and fewer delivery time slots as the holiday gets closer.

Upshaw explains that the ongoing drought in the region hasn’t had a major impact because her team secured inventory back in December, sourcing blooms from the best growers. And while the preparation for Valentine’s Day can be hectic for the staff, she says the joy of creating special moments is what keeps them going.

“Our adrenaline gets to rushing just to be able to help the customers,” she says. “And then our drivers go out, and sometimes we go out and take pictures of that too. You know, the drivers that get to deliver to the customer.”

Every year, Upshaw’s team loves how happy flowers make clients, something they can always count on. “It’s just fun just to see the excitement on the ladies’ faces and the guys as well,” she continues.
